Carrie Strasburger
Virginia DEN

Carrie Strasburger changed careers 14 years ago to become a teacher. She has taught science at the middle school level and has served two terms on the Board for the National Middle Level Science Teachers Association and is on the Advisory Board for Unitedstreaming. She is on the Advisory Board for Aerospace Educators through the National Science Teachers Association. Carrie is the Project Discovery teacher at NASA Explorer School (NES) KW Barrett and a Resource Teacher for Gifted Services in Arlington, Virginia Public Schools.
Some of Carrie's awards and recognition include: Virginia's 2004 AAUW Educator of the Year; Air Force Association Educator of the Year; Aerospace Foundation Educator of the Year; Virginia Association of Science Teachers, Creative Science Teacher of the Year. Carrie has coached several national champion student teams for Sally Ride Science for Girls; NASA National Student Involvement (NSIP) Competition program and Jane Goodall Foundation, Roots and Shoots. Carrie has used digital media and technology in her classroom for years and conducts training sessions for pre-service and in-service teachers (all subject areas) and at workshops at national and state conventions. Her specialty is how to use technology to differentiate learning for all students. If she couldn't teach in Arlington, she would teach from the International Space Station or from Mars!
