Jennifer Dorman
Pennsylvania DEN

Jen is a 9th grade American History teacher at Holicong Middle School (Central Bucks School District) in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. In addition to teaching she has also held leadership positions at her school, such as: 9th grade team leader, new teacher mentor, student teacher cooperating teacher, professional development liaison, master practitioner, co-chair of the Central Bucks strategic planning committee on technology, student exchange program coordinator, site-level public relations coordinator, Superintendent’s Professional Advisory Committee member, track and cheerleading coach, and student play director. Her web site offers insight into the types of activities Jen’s students experience in her classroom.
Jen clearly enjoys opportunities to collaborate with fellow educators through her involvement with the Keystone Technology Integrators Program and the Discovery Educator Network. She consistently takes away lists of ideas to share with her administration and fellow teachers from regional DEN and Keystone events. Jen shares her passion for educational technology and unitedstreaming through professional presentations in her district as well as other school districts statewide and regional conferences, such as the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Exposition and Conference, the Parent Awareness Training Conference, and the Learning Connections Conference.
Jen believes that the key to sustaining a high level of creativity and innovation in the classroom is to never stop being a student herself. She earned a Masters of Science Degree in Educational Technology in 2003 and frequently enriches her teaching by researching and piloting new instructional technologies. She has led the way in her district with the implementation of interactive whiteboards, digital storytelling, podcasting, and blogging. She is looking forward to trying out the new unitedstreaming features in her classroom this coming school year and sharing ideas with other educators.
