Kay Teehan

Kay has been in education for 36 years, and can honestly say that it has never been as exciting as it is today. With the integration of technology into the curriculum, it has made teaching a dramatic, creative theater where the teacher can compose lessons that stimulate and motivate the students.

She is a Technology Trainer for Polk County School district, a National Board Certified Teacher, a member of the Channel One Network News Advisory Board, and has been selected as a Florida Master Digital Educator. Kay is also one of North Florida's busiest Discovery Educator Network Members, training over 300 teachers in the use of unitedstreaming. She writes technology curriculum for training, and collaborates regularly with classroom teachers in accordance with the Microsoft Peer Coaching Program. Kay teaches classes for teachers in Alternative Certification Methods, and facilitates online classes in Copyright & Ethics for Teachers.

She believes the strength of unitedstreaming is in its integration with third-party software such as Inspiration, MovieMaker 2, Google Earth, and PowerPoint. She uses it often, and embeds video clips in a variety of places. She claims it is indeed a powerful teacher tool. Discovery Educator Network claims she is a Powerful Educator in today's Digital World.
