Michele Futch
Florida DEN

Michele Futch is an ESE Inclusion and Reading teacher at Blountstown Middle School in Florida. She enjoys using technology in the classroom and has become more proficient in technology integration thanks to the Discovery Educator’s Network. She is looking forward to testing out her new skills and learning even more this year. Michele is a visual learner and believes technology allows her to present the material better and the students seem to learn more from the various forms of digital media. It is a great way to stimulate the students and to help promote critical thinking skills. Outside of the classroom, she has taken many different educational and reading classes at Florida State University and has an undergraduate degree in Criminology.
Michele has taken 18 hours to earn my professional certificate in Varying Exceptionalities. She attended additional classes to earn the Reading Endorsement and her Master’s Degree in Education from Florida State University in 2006. Michele’s philosophy is to teach with a giving heart. “The ultimate reward is the strong relationships you develop with your students.” She has applied this same philosophy to being a DEN member by uploading 39 resources to win the NECC Resource Scholarship, attending the South East Regional Institute in Atlanta, traveling wherever events in North Florida are being held and participating in the North Florida Blog on a daily basis. At a recent event in her county, Michele was “crowned” the Calhoun County unitedstreaming user of the Year with a butterfly crown and wand.
