Stephanie Harrison
Georgia DEN

In her 15 th year of teaching, Stephanie Harrison is an English teacher/gifted collaborator at South Forsyth High School in Cumming, Georgia. She loves creating exciting and engaging lessons for her students, and she is eager to learn new presentation techniques and strategies. Katherine Aiken, GA DEN manager, and Stephanie co-presented at the 2006 Georgia Council for Teachers of English (GCTE) conference held at Callaway Gardens, and they had a fantastic time collaborating and sharing their ideas with other English teachers in their state.
While Stephanie’s enthusiasm for learning is infectious, her credentials are quite impressive too. In 2003 she became a National Board Certified Teacher in English Language Arts. She is a member of several national and international honor societies, she is a published author and she has presented at statewide and national conferences. One of Stephanie’s memorable accomplishments occurred in 2000 when she became a Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program recipient to Japan. After her experiences in Japan, Stephanie created a Journey to Japan website which is accessible at http://personal.lig.bellsouth.net/lig/s/t/steph221/.
“Since learning about unitedstreaming this year, I have been busy previewing, downloading, and creating lessons for my department. My hope is to share these lessons and collaborate with others through the Discovery Educator Network. I’m constantly amazed at the great on-line resources available and want to be involved in helping teachers utilize them to maximize student learning. Cheers to Georgia Public Broadcasting for sponsoring such great programs!”
