Theresa Meade

Theresa Meade joined the DEN back in May and has been one of Virginia's most active members. She has attended nearly every DEN training/ event available including the Northeast DEN Regional Institute. Theresa has been a wonderful addition to the Virginia DEN!

"I am starting my fifth year of teaching and just moved into the position of the K-5 Math Educator for the Mathematics & Science Center in Richmond. I have felt from the very beginning of my career that technology would be the key to exciting and engaging lessons. Discovering the DEN helped me add that component to my lessons. I found that my fifth graders were talking about my lessons before they even came into the classroom! That was exciting. I am now in a position that allows me to create plans that focus on integrating math and science with technology. I find that UnitedStreaming is an invaluable resource. It's important for all of us to remember that our children are now members of a visual, image based society. In order to teach them, we need to play to their strengths and interests. My new job and the support of the DEN give me the opportunity to do just that."
