Document Cameras

Good evening everyone,

I need some help. My school recently received some money and is interested in purchasing document cameras. I am doing some research and found some great ones to buy. But, I am not sure which one. I don't want the fancy ones and would like to keep it under $750.00. Does anyone know of a great company to purchase them?

Please let me know asap.

My school recently invested

My school recently invested in document cameras as well. We ordered from Camcor and we purchased the AverVision300p cameras. They work well and are in your price range. Good luck!

Our Regional Educational

Our Regional Educational Media Center (REMC) Association State-wide coorperative purchase organization looks at these. I know the AverMedia products do well. The larger Qomo is really good, but it is around $900. Consider a product that can be used with a microscope.

In your price range, also consider the AverMedia product. We use the AverMedia 300p at our place. Go to http://www.remcbid.org and search for document cameras or visual presenters. Also look in Selection Tools - ther eis one on visual presenters. While this service is for Michigan, you can see what we sold this past year.

We use Clear One Student Cam

We use Clear One Student Cam model# 910-171-120 - It has a microscope attachment. We use them with 3rd. 4th. and 5th grade science lessons and connect it directly to the LCD projectors. Two classes share one media cart, since they are not in use at all times..

If you need in and out audio I would also reccomend the Avermedia Avervision 130 for classroom use.  Nathan, DEN Florida member

Hi our school division just

Hi our school division just purchased 75 AverMedia document cameras to pilot.  They seem to be working well.  They are easy to set up and work wonderfully with our Promethean whiteboards...good luck with your search.

We use the AverMedia 130

We use the AverMedia 130 cameras and have been very happy!  We order them locally from a vendor and can get each for under $500.  This has enabled us to put one in almost every classroom!  Our teachers love them and they have been very easy to use for every teacher regardless of experience or skill level.

Our schools were using

Our schools were using ELMO's.  We had tried 3 different models.  The lower model did not have a light source on it and teachers didn't really like it (shadows, too dark, etc.)  We are upgrading to a document camera from Samsung.  Just saw them at PETE&C, they look incredible.  The view was crystal clear.
