math tutorials

My middle school is looking for a prescriptive, skill-based math tutorial to use with our kiddos who are not progressing in the regular curriculum.  Does anybody out there have any suggestions?

have you considered studyisland.com?

I was wondering how you use Study Island.  Our students seem to just want to play games and "pound" at the Keyboard.  Do you have a specific method for how it is used?   Just curious because we would like ideas on how to use it more effectively.

Since I am not with the students when they use it, I do not have a lot of experience with it.  All I know is what I hear from the other teachers.  In looking at it, the one thing I didn't like was the fact that if a student misses a question, the program doesn't walk them through it.  Years ago, we used to use a program called Cornerstone, and it seemed to help in that respect.  If a student missed a question, it would walk them through the steps to help build understanding.

SkillsTutor.com and StudyIsland.com are both good options.
