AlphaSmart Neo
Our school just pruchsed them as well. We had a full-day in-service at which Ren Lrng sent trainers to work with my full staff. You should contact them for their training materials. They had some very good procedural hand-outs. They taught my teachrs how to turn them on, save and print files, use them for writing, use them as responders, etc. We're still at the beginning stages too.
Two of my math teachers use them every single day. They have prepared Power Points with math problems and the students use the Neos to respond during class. The teachers are able to collect immediate data as to which students understand and don't. The math teachers have also set-up their homework assignments so that the student answers can be input into the Neos right as students enter the classrooms. The teachers can then see who did their hw and which problems they got right and wrong. This has helped them shorten the hw check portion of their lessons.
The Language Arts teachers are having students write with them but there have been some printing problems we are working out with the company.
We are exploring a system which would allow students to take them home for homework. I purchased additional receievers so that our carts of 30 can be broken up among several classrooms. Hope this helps.
Thanks the math teachers have some great ideas!
I do have a couple of questions about the training. Did you have pay for the trainers to come in? Can I just get training materials without having them come? I appreciate that you replied!
Yes we had to pay for the training. Did you get the user manual with your Neos? What specific problems are you having?

Hi!
I was looking for anyone who might have worked with AlphaSmart Neo's before. My school recently purchased these and I need to train staff on how to use them. I would love some help though! Has anyone ever used these?
