Hi there, I may have found a bug or maybe I am not proceeding correctly.  I tried to edit my account information and my email is in the box but it is grayed.  When I submit it tells me I have to enter an email address but won't let me put anything in the box.  Thanks!

I see exactly what you're talking about.  Putting in a request to get that fixed.  Thanks for pointing it out!

Okay, still waiting to be able to update my email address.  I hate missing out on any update, newsletters, etc..

Help!  I can find the state blogs, special topic blogs, and my blog.  However, I can't find other individual member blogs?  What am I missing?!  Thanks!

You aren't missing that, it just isn't there quite yet.  In order to avoid a flood of "Hello World's", we're going to hold off on that one for just a little bit, and then publish a listing of blog authors and posts.  So that'll be coming soon!

You should be able to get into your own blog though, by using the "My Blog", "My Dashboard" and "Create Post/Page" links.  If you don't see those,  you may not be flagged with the proper STAR status.  Let me know and I'll fix it for you.

I can't seem to figure out how to download videos embedded in a PowerPoint.  I have looked at several resources, but I can't see/get the videos.  As an example - the Metric System PPT (http://community.discoveryeducation.com/resources/metric_system_embedded_videos), I go to the "view resource" page here http://player.discoveryeducation.com/player.cfm?guidAssetId=51eaa2ff-8e01-4e2f-8dcc-dbb859cc5a26 but there is no link for the videos.  When I open the PPT it seems to think the videos are pictures.  Previously I could click on links for the videos and download them, now there is nothing.  Under the Resource Assets, it simply shows the PPT, no video links.

That's a bug we're currently trying to work out.  The main issue is, we are trying to get the Streaming video clips OUT of the resources.

Two reasons:

  1. They take up a ton of space and bandwidth
  2. Potential copyright violations if we allow STAR's from the other DE products like Science and ThinkLink that may not have a subscription to Streaming!

We're still working on that one, so just bear with us...

My unitedstreaming account has gone wacky.  I notice that since the site has been updated, I get an "object error" when I try to create an assignment.  I need to get a video up there for my sub so that I can go to the FETC tomorrow, and I'm not having any luck!

Sorry!  This should have gone in the streaming section.  Feel free to move it.  Thanks!

I deperately trying to complete my STAR application, but when I try to click the "add files" continue, button to upload my resource I keep getting an error in red stating there were some errors in form; please fill out required areas highlighted in red. The highlight is over"Resource Categories" and clicking on any of the categories produces no results. What can I do? It won't let me continue.

Hi Steve,

I tried accessing my blog dashboard today and it said that I don't have sufficient permissions to access that page.  Am I doing something wrong?  Thank you!

I am supposed to add a resource to complete my STAR application, but can't figure out how or where to do this. Also, when I click on any of the educator resources, I get a blank page.

Thanks,

Gayle

I have a question about the STAR Educator blogs. I noticed you're not using the most recent version of WPMU - and I think it's causing some trouble with the Twitter Tools plugin. You can't set a default category for your twitters to go in (checked this in IE7 and FireFox3).

I'm not sure if using the older version of WPMU is the cause, but it may be. Are you guys going to upgrade the blogs any time soon?

Also - who do we make plugin requests to? I'd love to see wp-o-matic added so we can bring rss feeds in as individual posts on our blog (saves reposting from personal blogs to here).

I was checking my messages and the email requested I resubmit my application. I completed the application process at the beginning of Feb. 08'. Do I need to reapply?
