How is DE Streaming being used to support a school’s accountability and assessment plan?

Greetings everyone,

I am a doctoral fellow collecting informal data on how DE Streaming is being used effectively to support a school's accountability and assessment plan. To clarify, I would like to know how other educators use this tool for:

  1. Setting goals and/or objectives for an Individualized Education program for a student with special needs.
  2. Servicing students who are serving In-School-Suspension.
  3. Servicing students who are on long-term suspension or receiving instruction at home for some other reason.

Furthermore, I would like to find out if anyone is using DE Streaming as an assessment tool and, if so, how?

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Regards

Did you know that DE Streaming has an assessment section in the Teachers' Center called the Builders?  It has writing prompts, a quiz builder, and an assignment builder.  I use them all the time to not only differentiate instruction, but to also individualize instruction to meet the needs of my students.  Hope this helps!  ~Teryl

Thank you for your feedback.  Would you be able to point me to or e-mail me a sample of one of your writing prompts?  I would like to use it anonymously in my report if it is oK with you.

FYI: Discovery Science Connection has a formative science assessment piece built into it too.  It is used by our school district to evaluate and support students as we prepare them for the real world as well as state assessements.

To follow up on the previous post, the Writing Prompt was designed to address all four areas of stating writing assessments.  We too use this feature in preparing our students for state writing assessments.

Thanks so much for your feedback.  Do you have any sample work that I can include in my report?

Please e-mail me at dmantz@usd405.com and I will work with you on some of these items.  If you have an account, you can go into the tools and see projects that have already been created.
