network manager issues

Hi, all!  Our district, like many of yours, continues to experience issues with Discovery Streaming.  As the district admin, I have some very frustrated teachers.  We use network manager to control bandwidth.  Here are some of the things I've reported:

 1) Icons keep changing...items already on server now have the clock icon to download later.  Sometimes the red x appears that makes it look like the network manager is down, even though everything is working fine.  Videos will play if you click in the center of the preview pane rather than on the play button.  We can download them from the server and play from the saved file.   The network manager continues to download videos nightly as teachers click on whichever icon currently represents "Download Later."  It seems to work even if it's the clock, the red x, or the green check mark.

2)  Under "My Content," the School and District tabs have disappeared.  That happened about the time our Network Manager tab was fixed.  (It was missing for a while)

3)  We get a "page cannot be displayed" error if we try to preview images using the preview buttons.  The preview pane is black with a red x.  We can right click and save the image and see it just fine.

4)  Playing videos:  We cannot play from any of the play buttons.  Clicking a play button results in a black screen that says "connecting to media" then flips back to "Ready."  We have discovered that we can refresh the player page and click in the center of the preview pane to play a video.

I know DE folks monitor these threads, so I was wondering if you have any idea on when these might be resolved.  I'll continue to remind my teachers to be patient, but it would help if we had some sort of estimate.

Thanks!

We are experiencing similar

We are experiencing similar issues. Our network manager buttons changes from a clock to a red X.

Even though we have streaming blocked during the school day, the play button works for full videos during the school day.

Can not view any "events." Get a browser error message about cookies may be blocked, which is not the case.

In Internet Explorer, most pages indicate that they have errors (bottom left corner message appears).

My workshops next week should prove interesting.

Same problems as you guys

Same problems as you guys mentioned.  I call but they seem to keep telling me that it's our problem. What's killing me is that teachers can click on the picture of the video and it starts streaming in even though we have streaming and downloading blocked during the school day. This is killing all of the school's bandwidth.  Like mentioned above for videos we arleady have on our server there is no green play button lit up and the watch is the only icon you can click on.

I also, think there is a problem with the web site itself. Has anyone experienced trouble logging in?

For instance you would log in and get stent to discovery education then you would click discovery streaming only to be sent back to discovery streaming login page. They tell me its a cache thing.  I don't think it is because we would clear the local cache and the network wide cache and it would still do this occasionally.

It's time for someone to step up and get these problems resolved!

Yes, We have been working

Yes,

We have been working with Tech Support for 2 months with trying to resolve a login problem with Streaming. We login and get kicked out. We have cleared the Cache on the individual user machines, we have cleared our networks, we have prioritized everything, done the wildcards, we have done everything DES has asked but still random users cannot get in. Somewhere from the login with DES and the transfer to Streaming we get dropped. Has anyone else experienced login problems with Streaming? What steps have you taken to resolve it? If not what steps have you tried. Thanks,Searching for the needle in the haystack!

If you have not resolved

If you have not resolved this yet: 2)  Under "My Content," the School and District tabs have disappeared.  That happened about the time our Network Manager tab was fixed.  (It was missing for a while)

This happened to us in our district, you will have to adjust the teachers back to Dept Heads school by school if you have not done this already. That will bring all their content back. It worked for us.
