Spanish

I'm an 8th grade Spanish teacher and would like to get some ideas for group projects about Costa Rica.  Anything would help: the only things i can think of are recipe books and maps, but it seems like there are so many other ideas about such a broad topic.  Anything that has to do with Costa Rica that would involve 4-5 students.

One fun thing to do is to

One fun thing to do is to have them create commercials for Costa Rica telling people to travel there. They would find put together reasons why someone would want to go there ie - tropical forests, food, climate, etc.

It could be a form of digital storytelling.

Or travel brochures.  My

Or travel brochures.  My students have loved creating a tri-fold travel brochure for a given place.  It's a great way to assess writing skills as well as content-specific knowledge.

I wrote a book called Robo

I wrote a book called Robo en la noche.  It is set in Costa Rica and has an extensive teacher's guide.  You can read two chapters and see the glossary at www.tprstorytelling.com.  It is for beginning students.
