Hello. How is the cost zero? I thought it was a 66% discount. I emailed google sales for information but did not receive a reply. I love google docs; my grade 8 students, if parents approved, registered for gmail accounts so we could participate in Letters to the President. You sign up. Your account is created and then you provide proof of your school such as a website and they change your account to the education edition. The cost of the education edition is zero. 10.00 a year. if you want to create and register a domain name.such as shericlass.org
our school has a acceptable use policy given to each student. We set their google accounts so they cant change their passwords. The application is very easy to manage.
The beauty of the google apps for educaion is that the administrators control panel is so easy that you can set up many accounts at once.
Your kids can create easy simple websites. You can allow the world to see them or just your domain. The apps suite comes with email, docs, calendar, an internal chat all of which can be enabled or disabled for your school. The google apps edition allows online collaboration. This week google added footnote support.
For training there are great instructional videos for each section.
Also the education edition email gets free spam protection and 7 gig email accounts for each person. Also the education gets free tech support.

It gives each user a six gigabyte email account Additonal features include an online word processor, spreadsheet and presentation package. It allows for online collaboration between student and teacher. There is also an online calendar for students teachers and staff to use to keep track of assigments, lesson plans tests etc. There is also a web page buider where you can use items from discovery education to build educational website.
google provides great video training for each section
