Melissa~Glad to see you found the discussion boards. It is a great way to gain information from teachers across the nation. Since you have been using DE Streaming for awhile I was wondering if you had checked out the Builders section yet. It would be a great way for you to get the formal assessment you need on your children while still engaging them with digital media. New Star Member here as well...and third grade teacher. LOVE United Streaming and use it for everything from teaching Spanish to fractions. I look foward to checking out the Builders section, thanks Terry.

Hi everyone! My name is Jen and I, too, am a third grade teacher! I teach in Wichita, Kansas and have been teaching for 7 years. This is my first year teaching third grade, but have taught everything from pre-k to sixth grade=). I love looking on here and on United Streaming for ideas also! I agree with the person that posted on here about starting a 3rd grade forum. I know I could use some fresh ideas and would definitely love to share my ideas!! It is so nice to have other teachers that love to use techonology in their classrooms!!

My name is Barbara Harlan. I teach in Bartow, Fl. I teach k-5 ESE at the center school there. Like you I use unitedstreaming all the time. Were you at the Discovery Days at Jim Miles? I have been using the pictures from unitedstreaming with my students to make a review ABC movie. We are in the process of adding voices to it so I can send it home with them at the end of the year. Your students may like to do that too.
Hi Barbara, I was at the Discovery Days at Jim Miles. I learned so much that day. Since then I have been using GoogleEarth like crazy. I have since moved to a new school. I am now at Lake Shipp, but still teaching 3rd grade. Nice to hear from you, maybe we will meet at future conventions and trainings soon.
Hi, my name is Melissa, I am a third grade teacher in Auburndale, FL. I use United Streaming on a daily basis. I teach math only to three different third grade classes each day. I will download a movie for the week, then show only certain segments each day. I will do cooperative learning groups and movement games withe Blackline Masters that normally accompany the movies. I have seen a huge impact in my students since I began doing this. They really enjoy the movies. I hope to get many good ideas from this section.
I have been using this site since last year, but never noticed this aspect of it. I hope to give and gain many things in the up and coming times from here.
