I've been a member of the DEN from almost the beginning. It is a wonderful network of educators who have a passion for sharing and learning together so that we can provide the best possible learning environments for the students we teach. I am actively involved in ICE, the state IL technology organization and also excited to be part of the exceptional Leadership Council of the DEN in Second Life. I work with educators and students in the 5th and 6th grade in IL.

I have been a member of the DEN for a few years and have found it to be the most wonderful experience.  Having taught in the classroom for over thirty years, DEN participation has kept me ahead of the “what’s new/out there?” curve and has energized my classroom – ‘cuz I am always trying a new way of presenting the same old information (I teach History!  LOL).  To the new DEN members, PARTICIPATE!!  The webinars, regional events and even social gatherings are fun and will expand your teaching portfolio.  Who knows, maybe you too will become the new technology guru at your site because of your DEN involvement, and then you too, can be a STAR!    DEN ROCKS!!!!

I joined the DEN during its inaugural year thanks to its acquistion of unitedstreaming.  I saw the opportunity to collaborate with other educators who are as excited as I am about bringing technology into our classrooms and into the students' hands.  The support from the DEN managers is second to none and the relationships I have developed with other DE's are some of my most valuable resources.

I joined DEN in November of 06 and have found some fantastic resources to share with my fellow teachers. The lesson ideas are right on and you can always get great tips from very experienced teachers.

Thanks for providing this for educators all over!

Greetings, all! I'm Joe Brennan former Spanish teacher, coach and A.V. guy. I have been retired from teaching for a year now and keep myself busy writing the digital storytelling blog for the DEN (http://blog.discoveryeducation.com/digital_storytelling) and doing staff development training for the DEN, Apple, and on my own. Since unitedstreaming was headquartered in the Chicago suburb next to where I taught, I was able to do a little testing and kicking the tires of their services for a few years before Discovery took over. The DEN has taken it to a whole new level by connecting us to each other. It has been a real pleasure getting to meet so many of you in person and online these last couple of years. I look forward to many more learning encounters with both old and new DEN friends.

Good day everyone!

I am Eric Strommer and I teach in Flint, Michigan. I have been involved with the DEN from just about its beginning. I joined at my first US workshop and I have enjoyed every moment of it. I have taught grades 2 through 5. The past three years I have split myself between being the computer lab teacher and Title I teacher. I am also the go-to-person (by default) for everything computer technology at our school. I have used the resources from Discovery Education in most of my 10 years of teaching: Puzzlemaker, Kathy Schrock’s site, Science Fair Central, Junkyard Wars (need to bring that back to TV), United Streaming, Assignment and Quiz Builders. I am just getting into blogging and digital media story telling.

I discovered DEN just over 1 year ago.  My school received the E2T2 grant and I was fortunate evough to be a part of it.  Through my hands on training, I discovered the DEN.  There has been no going back. I am addicted.  I love the DEN and have been encouraging everyone I work with to join in.  Tracy Selock

Hello from the heart of Kansas.  I live in Sterling, Kansas and employed by USD 405 in Lyons, Kansas.  I have been there for 13 years.  I have been serving as either the assistant or Director of Technology for the last 7 years.  We have been using Unitedstreaming for at least those 7 years.  I have been conducting training sessions on Discovery Education features within my district, local college, neighboring school districts as well at 2 state conferences.  I absolutely love Unitedstreaming Plus and Science Connection.  The lessons and sharing among the DEN members provides excellant resources when conducting in-services as well as material that can be integrated into the Intel Teach to the Future and LoTi programs.  I challenge all DEN members to participate in classroom20.ning.com and tie in the DEN member site.  I have already started a Discovery Education group on my classroom 2.0 page.

Hi there,

I am a "newbie" to DE and streaming.  I am a classroom teacher (2/3) as well as one of the building technology coordinators for my school here in Anchorage, Alaska.  As a Teacher Technology Leader for my district, I was given the opportunity to be trained to use Discovery Education.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Discovery Education.  It's been a wealth of resources and information- and since I've been involved for only a month I'm sure I've just seen the tip of the iceberg.

Your video "Lunar Eclipses" shows a total solar eclipse.

The moon is revolving around the earth in the wrong direction in one segment.

This was addressed by our planetary science director a while back.

Could you look in to this?  Thanks

Hi, I'm Kris

I currently teach 4th grade in Nampa, Idaho and am my building tech coordinator. I continually try to integrate technology into my classroom and our building. Sadly, my school is closing this spring and I must transfer to another school. I'm hoping to convince my district to become more involved with Discovery education. They have been reluctant so far. It is great to meet other educators with similar interests. I learned of this program while completing my MAT the last few years.

I am new to Discovery Education and United Streaming. I have been in the classroom for 18 years and have recently become a district level Educational Technology Teacher supporting technology in 8 schools. While none of my schools currently have access to United Streaming, I am excited to share with them the Discovery Education site and resources. I am hopeful our district will be able to provide United Streaming access to all teachers in the near future. What an incredible resource for teachers to have.
