Hello,
Welcome to the DEN website. I am also an ITRT in Virginia working for Norfolk Public Schools. I want to wish you good luck. I am sure, with your knowledge on how to integrate technology within the classroom, you will be able to bring the curriculum alive for your students.

I am just returning to the DEN website after running across the DEN island in Second Life. I rediscovered the DEN at the VSTE (the Virginia Society for Technology in Education) conference in 2008. I use United Streaming almost daily and coach teachers to use it in their instruction.
I am currently an Instructional Technology Specialist for the Waynesboro Public School division. Prior to my work in Waynesboro, I served as a Curriculum and Technology Integration Partner for teachers in Albemarle County, VA and taught grades K-3 for 12 years in the classroom setting. I love teaching and learning. I am NETS-T certified; an NTTI Master teacher (class of 2007) and I hold an M.Ed in Educational Technology. Lastly, I am serviing (2007-08) as and adjunct professor at James Madison University. There, I am teaching (or have taught -depending on today's date) the course entitled," Information in Comtemporary Society". It's a course that takes a look at how various technologies have and are affecting societal norms.
I am planning to return to classroom teaching for the next couple years. I want to test out all the new technology (especially the "Read Write Web") in my own classroom on a daily basis. I am so excited to embark on my classroom teaching journey! Wish me luck!
