plan correlates with Scott Foresman Unit 5 Week 1 reading series for first grade. Hyperlinks go to unitedstreaming videos. The plan can be emailed to the teachers or loaded on your server. The teachers will now have at their fingertips the videos they need for their lessons. The idea can be used for any reading curriculum or other subject at any grade level. It just takes the time to research the information for yourself and to share with others. Go to linked files for folders containing Unit 5 Weeks 1-6 and Unit 6 Weeks 1-6. Scott Foresman

This PowerPoint Show contains 25 sight words students should know. (First 25 of second 100 words.) It is very basic and contains one sight word per page. If students click on the picture of the speaker found under the sight word, they will hear the word pronounced. They may hear the word as many times as they wish before going to the next slide. Students may click anywhere on the page to move to the next word. Partners at the computer center also had fun seeing who could say the word the fastest. sight words flash cards

Students read The Story of Ferdinand by Munro Leaf (or some other book that chronicles the experiences of the main character).  After discussion about what makes Ferdinand special and how he remained true to himself students create "The Story of..."
