We took a field trip with the seventh grade to Bonaventure Cemetary in Savannah, GA. The students worked on several projects, but I am highlighting our math part. my students are SLD resource for math, so we did a data analysis project that was about 4-6 grade level. We looked for ages at time of death and then found the mean, meadian, mode, and range. Students compared thes with several types of graphs. Student made graphs using Microsoft Excel. We had a lot of fun! You could use a historical cemetary near your school, or find one on-line. data analysis, mean, mode, median, range, cemetery, graphs
