Every four years, the United States elects a President. Prior to every election, citizens are asked to register to vote. This writing prompt asks students to consider the importance of a single vote. The United States elects a president through the Electoral College. Each state gets a certain number of Electoral College votes based upon census results. Presidential candidates sometimes appear to value some states more than others because of their Electoral College value. With this in mind, respond with your opinion about whether or not your vote is important. Remember to support your opinion with facts.
