As a science teacher, I often give my 7 graders multiple-choice tests. They are easy to grade and I can give the students quick feedback. However, with approximately 180 students, inevitably some students fail. One way I help these students learn the facts and concepts presented on the test is to give them an opportunity to correct their tests to receive a passing grade. For test corrections, the students must correct their entire test during lunch or after school. s more, they not only need to get all of the right answers, but they also need to find the sentence(s) in the textbook that gives the correct answer. They spend much of their lunch hour rereading the text looking for information. Additionally, because they must highlight the correct answer on their paper and highlight that same word in the sentence they written from the book, they also learn how to read a test question. Even with this series of steps, there are still some students who cannot find the answer in the book. I end up working with them one-on-one teaching them how to locate the information in their text. This whole process gives the students a chance to learn the information they did not learn the first time around as well as raise their grade. test, correction
