This is a powerpoint created by Linda Rush, a teacher from Catholic Diocese of Dallas. This is the study of jazz timeline from 1900's through the 1960's. The students identify instruments that are used by jazz musicans. There are an introduction to famous jazz musicans such as Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. You will need to download this movie that has been linked with this file. Other suggestions is to go to brainpop and play the Harlem Renaissance movie and have the students take the quiz.
